Planning pointers...
Garden Studios will do whatever we can to ensure
the smooth development of your studio – and
we are more than happy to liaise with your Local
Planning Authority regarding any planning concerns
you may have.
In most domestic situations you will not require
planning permission for your studio - providing
that your studio is:
Sited 5 metres or more from the main dwelling.
At least 1 metre from a neighbour’s boundary,
if greater than 15sq metres internally (Building
Control Regulations).
Incidental to the enjoyment of the main dwelling.
Outside the curtilage of a conservation area, listed
building, National Park, or The Broads.
Part of the 70 cubic metre allowance for extensions,
if sited within 5 metres of the main dwelling.
Not nearer to any highway than the nearest part
of the ‘original house’
